About

Chris is an award-winning writer, reporter and photojournalist in San Francisco, where he was born and raised. He grew up obsessed with reading, writing and music. He is still addicted to all three.

His work has appeared in national and regional publications including Northwestern magazine, East Bay Express, Oakland Magazine, Miller-McCune.com, The Good Men Project, BrainWorld, Crain’s Workforce Management, Contra Costa Times and The New York Times.

He is the former assistant editor at Above the Law, where his work was cited by Time, the Daily Mail, Jezebel, Kotaku, the ABA Journal, the TaxProf Blog and others.

Previously, he was assistant editor at InsideCounsel, a magazine for in-house attorneys, and an intern at Texas Monthly and the Chicago Reporter. As a student investigator with the Medill Innocence Project, Chris spent almost four months investigating Willie T. Donald’s wrongful murder and robbery conviction in Gary, Ind.

Chris attended journalism school at Northwestern University, where he double-majored in political science.

He can occasionally be seen playing bass with Down and Outlaws.
